We are privileged to welcome our local Historian Hamish Johnstone (author of “A corner of Pakistan in Scotland”) who talked about the contribution of Muslim soldiers 80 years ago in WW2, and specially soldiers buried in Kinnussie cemetery.
Hamish delivered a powerful and inspiring speech about the Muslim soldiers who gave their lives defending the UK during the Second World War. His words were a moving reminder of the crucial role Muslims played in the nation’s history and defense.
After the speech, we offered pizza and tea to Sir Hamish & his wife, in the welcoming atmosphere of the mosque.
Brother Iqbal Sahib and Brother Usaid both showed admirable enthusiasm and generosity by preparing and presenting a variety of delicious foods. Although Brother Usaid kindly allowed Brother Iqbal to take the lead in bringing the food, both brothers worked sincerely to serve the guests and students with care and kindness, and spent time engaging with them to enhance the experience.
